Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Kumar is a distinguished academician and senior academic administrator with over 37 years of experience in teaching, research, and leadership in higher education. His career reflects a strong commitment to institutional governance, policy formulation, and strategic academic planning, aligned with national priorities including the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He has played a pivotal role in curriculum modernization, strengthening research ecosystems, and implementing technology-driven reforms in admissions and examination systems to enhance transparency, efficiency, and academic excellence.

Prof. Kumar has held several key statutory and administrative positions in higher education, including:

Institutional Development & Initiatives
As Dean, Prof. Kumar played an instrumental role in establishing the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) and the Institute of Pharmacy (IoP). He led the introduction of innovative academic programmes, including MCA, M.Tech. (Computer Science & Engineering), and B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. His leadership ensured that academic offerings remained aligned with regulatory frameworks, quality benchmarks, and emerging industry requirements.
Research & Academic Contribution
Prof. Kumar has made significant contributions to Mathematical Statistics, Statistical Computing, Bayesian Statistics, and Data Science.
He has published over 100 research papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals indexed in SCI, Scopus, and Web of Science, and has authored several academic textbooks.
He has successfully supervised numerous Ph.D. scholars, including international candidates, thereby contributing to research capacity building and innovation.
International Engagement
He has been actively involved in international academic collaborations with universities and research institutions in Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, Nepal, and other countries.
